Q. Why should you "Ride with the Pack" ?
A. Wolfpack Outfitters, Inc is a family-run business that has offered
horseback rides near Ennis, Montana since 1998 - over 20+ years.
A. Our focus is on QUALITY and HORSEMANSHIP.
A. We take 1-2 groups per day - so horses, dogs and guides enjoy it!
Q. Why are Wolfpack rides different from other horseback rides?
A. All rides are PRIVATE and CUSTOMIZED.
A. Horses and saddles are matched to rider's skill level and body type.
A. We trailer the horses to a mountain trail - so you won't meet us at the barn to ride the same "old trail" - you truly ride Montana's mountains.
Q. Can I call today and ride this afternoon?
A. NO. Advanced reservations are required.
Q. How long are the horseback rides?
A. Mountain trailrides are 2.5-3 hours of actual saddle time.
A. Plan on 4+ hours for the activity (w/ travel , paperwork, tack up, etc.).
A. There is a snack/lunch break so you can stretch or take a rest break.
Q. What time does the ride start?
A. Rides generally start 9-10 am depending on weather.
A. The entire day is reserved for your group so we can adjust to your
schedule or work around inclimate weather (rain, heat, cold temps, etc).
Q. Can 1st time or advanced riders be on the same ride?
A. Our rides are private and custom so guides can help
various skill levels - 1st time, Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced.
A. With a limited amount of riders in each group, our guides can assist
those who need help. We ask for rider information (name, age, ht/wt ,
and skill level) so we can make it a safer, more comfortable trip.
Q. What is AGE LIMIT FOR KIDS? Weight limit?
A. Minimum age for children is 6 years old for mountain trail riding.
A. As for weight -- think about your physicality and your ability to safely
get on/off a horse in the backcountry wilderness. For this reason, we
prefer the rider's weight not to exceeed 250 lbs.
A. Please disclose any allergies, medical or physical conditions for your safety... we will be in the wilderness. All will be kept confidential -- "What happens on the trail -- stays on the trail".
Q. Is there lunch? Should I bring food?
A. EACH rider receives a bottle of water and a quart-size bag with jerky,
cheese, fresh fruit, nuts, granola bar, etc. Drinks available after the ride.
A. You can bring lunch, but most guests like our snackbags.
Q. What should I bring? How should I dress?
A. Saddlebags will hold your incidentals - snackbag, water, sunscreen,
camera, chapstick, bugspray, car keys, etc.
A. Dress in layers - bring a long-sleeve shirt, sweatshirt or jacket...
Jeans, riding boots or smooth-sole shoes work well. Sports bra -- LOL!

A. Ennis, MT - a rural town of 1000 residents known for its fly fishing.
Q. Where is Ennis, Montana?
A. Ennis is located in Southwest Montana.
A. Distance from Bozeman, MT = 55 miles.
A. Distance from West Yellowstone Park entrance = 75 miles .
A. Distance from the historic frontier town Virginia City, MT = 14 miles.
Q. What airports are nearby?

Q. Why is the time and trailhead set 24-72 hours prior to our ride?
A. It's Montana. Relax. Our rides are on the national forest and the
wilderness. Trail conditions change. Weather or other circumstances
can alter where we go (fire, smoke, heat, bear activity, etc).
A. This allows for you to ride the best conditions Mother Nature offers .
A. Your safety is our #1 priority. Having a scenic and memorable ride is
#2 so finalizing the details 24-72 hours prior helps us do this.
Q. WHAT SHOULDN'T I ASK OR DO?
A. Don't ask to ride double, smoke, vape, wear sandals/open-toe shoes.
A. Don't ask if the ride is scenic - its Montana!! Of course its scenic. We
wouldn't be in business riding thru mine waste / beetle killed trees.
A. Don't ask to ride like Rip and Casey in Yellowstone... or we will take you to the train station (LOL). Kidding aside - we have a horse named Rip.
