Wolfpack Outfitters Inc. is owned by Jeff and Shylea Wingard.
Jeff grew up in Pennsylvania and came to Montana as a hunting guide in 1987. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsyvlania (IUP) and purchased a wilderness hunting camp in 1991. As the owner of Wolfpack Outfitters, Jeff guided clients on pack-in/backcountry elk hunts for 23-years - selling the hunting camp in 2014 and retaining the horseback ride side of the business. Jeff also operates Wolfpack Fencing and Painting (started in 2000) and offers custom home improvments and finish carpentry services for residential and commercial properties. He is an avid Steeler fan, enjoys coaching baseball, and archery hunting elk and turkeys.
Shylea grew up on a cattle ranch in Ennis and has a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University. She handles accounting, client bookings, and guides horseback trips for Wolfpack Outfitters. In 2016 Shylea started Bar 88 Consulting & Livestock - specializing in ag business consultanting, delivering ag producer and risk management workshops, and grant writing for ag and community projects. Currently she is the project director of GoatMT -- a two-year educational partnership with MSU Extension, Bar 88 and funded by USDA-NIFA Beginning Farmer Rancher Development Program. When she is not working 2 or 3 jobs ,she fills her time feeding horses, checking cows, kidding goats or attending Vance's sporting events - football, basketball, baseball or the school play. She often says "I will sleep when I am dead."
Vance Wingard, is the charming horse groomer and guide-in-training. He plays football, basketball, baseball and golf while attending Ennis High School. Recently he played the role of "Tig" - a football player abducted by aliens in the school play "Aliens vs. Cheerleaders".
THE HORSES --- We own all our horses. No leasing. Some horses are home raised, while others are ranch/rodeo horses that have been there/done that -- having been used for roping, moving cows, rodeo or 4-H. All are well trained and responsive - making them fun for guests to ride. We proudly say "there isn't a horse or a saddle in the string we would not personally ride".
THE DOGS –- As established clients know...it is not a true "Wolfpack" ride unless we bring “the Pack” -- Tucker / Bailee / Addie
